Students leaving school

Dear 7-12 Parents,

As we complete the examination period we are in the process of finalising the reports and hope to have these emailed to you next week. Once these are received we will be scheduling Parent Teacher Meetings. May I also mention an area of concern with certain students  informing the Deputy Heads in Seniors that their  parents have indicated times for their collection  during the school day or different collection arrangements. We assume this is by messaging to Ipads/laptops. At FPA we take safeguarding very seriously and the policy is parents who wish their children to be released need to call Ms Hanan on the landline or on the school mobile. Usually I am informed, however, the Deputies always are and they sign an exeat which means the student can leave through security to the identified driver. If collection arrangements change Ms Hanan needs to be informed and duty staff on the gates are informed. To those who follow school policy thank you, however this now needs to extend to all families please for the safety of our students.

We look forward to seeing you soon for the meetings. Thank you for your help in this matter.

Best Wishes,

Jan Brettingham

ONLINE SCHOOLING 26/27 JANUARY

Dear Parents,
It has just been confirmed to us that schools will be required to move to remote learning on Thursday 26th/Friday 27th January as the forecast is for more rain and  poor weather conditions. The staff will provide teaching on seesaw and using zoom.  Hopefully Monday we will be back to normal school. Please call Ms Hanan if you have any questions on this.

SCHOOL CLOSURE

Dear Parents,

We have just received notification that school is to close due to the rain. If you are able to collect your children then do so from the usual exits, however, if their collection is an issue then we will look after them until you arrive.  Please call Ms Hanan or Ms Maryam for more details.

School closed Friday 6th January

Dear Parents,

School has been directed by the Ministry of Education that due to an unexpected tropical disturbance with heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast by the NCM school will be closed tomorrow Friday 6th January. If we are able to provide some classes online we will try, however as we have just been notified then teacher’s will not have brought all their resources home. I will ask staff to put work on seesaw if possible. Thank you for your  kind understanding.

Regards,

Principal

Start Spring Term

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new school term. A PCR test for students is not compulsory for entry. If your child has flu/cold  like symptoms they should remain at home until these have gone and take a PCR. Also there are a number of respiratory illnesses still with us so we ask you, as always, to help the protection of our community. All staff will be tested before entry.

Greetings for the New Year.

Best wishes,

Principal

School Finishing Time

Dear Parents,

Firstly may I pass our appreciation to all families for the support given for the school National Day celebration. The whole community had a fantastic, if exhausting day! Some very lovely dishes were sent in for the children to eat and the food that remained at the end of the day was sent to the poorer people in the community. School will finish at the usual time KG1, KG2 14.00, G1-12 15.00 except on Friday 9th December when all students finish at 11.50.

Best wishes,

Jan Brettingham
